(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Christina Aguilera says her new boyfriend is a special person who she has love for.

The singer-and-actress confirmed she was getting divorced from her husband Jordan Bratman in October. The pair have two-year-old son Max together, and have vowed to remain on good terms so they can raise him together.

Christina has been seen out and about with Matthew Rutler since the split, and has now spoken about their relationship for the first time. Matthew was a set assistant on her movie Burlesque, which is where they met, although they did not get together until after her split from Jordan.

Matthew is a special person. We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He's the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight, she told People magazine.

Once I filed for divorce, we started dating. I'm not trying to jump into anything. I just left a five-year marriage. I'm taking it slow and trying to be happy. There's a love there, yes.

The star added she is simply enjoying dating at the moment, and is looking forward to seeing how the romance develops.

Christina also addressed why her marriage ended. She was keen to point out she had a lot of good time with Jordan, and will always feel a bond with him because of Max. However, when she started working on Burlesque she realised something wasnt right with the relationship. The pair tried to work things out, but eventually realised they were better apart.

I went right into filming Burlesque [in Autumn last year]. As a musician you're with your posse all the time, and during the movie I removed myself from mine. So I had an independence I'd never felt before. I was growing leaps and bounds daily. I went from being a girl to a woman, she explained.

When I finished filming, I didn't feel right in my own shoes [at home]. I had a lot of things stirring inside of me that I felt were being suppressed. (C) Cover Media
