(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emma Roberts has put her student days on hold to focus on her career.

The 20-year-old had enrolled in college and was a freshman at a prestigious school in the Big Apple.

But Life & Style claims that the young starlet isn't ready to put her other endeavours to the side while she completes her degree.

"She's taking a break from Sarah Lawrence," a friend of hers told the publication.

The actress' rep confirmed that "due to work commitments, Emma has had to defer her college experience."

Emma's pal also claimed that her romance with Glee star Chord Overstreet, 22, was also a factor in her decision.

Chord lives in Los Angeles where his show is filmed whereas her college is located in New York meaning it would have been a long distance romance had she continued at Sarah Lawrence.

"Emma's in love and wants to spend time with Chord," the pal said. "You can't blame her!"
