(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emma Stone put on weight while filming The Help.

The 22-year-old actress stars in the upcoming movie adaptation of Kathryn Stockett's novel which is set in 1960s Mississippi.

She enjoyed a lot of Southern comfort food while filming including fried chicken, biscuits and lemon pie and her waistline paid the price.

"They took my costumes out twice," Emma quietly told E! Online. "Oh heck yeah! It was everyone."

But Emma would not be drawn on her love life and dodged the question of if she is dating her Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield. The pair are believed to have grown close lately, but prefer to keep things private.

"You can't be friends with anyone these days," she laughed.

Emma plays aspiring journalist Skeeter Phelan in the movie, who writes a book about how African American maids are treated in white households. The release also stars Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard and Octavia Spencer. (C) Cover Media
