Emma Watson on highly-anticipated' Rupert kiss

5th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emma Watson says her lip lock with co-star Rupert Grint was the "most anticipated kiss in history".

Emma plays Hermione Granger in the successful Harry Potter franchise, and in the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Hermione finally gets to canoodle with her best friend Ron Weasley, portrayed by Rupert.

Fans of the boy wizard series have been looking forward to seeing the characters confess their romantic feelings, and Emma felt under pressure to ensure the kiss was worth waiting for.

"We finally snogged ten years and we did it!" Emma laughed during an interview with British television show Daybreak. "I think that is the most anticipated kiss in history. We have been building the tension to this moment for eight movies. Rupert and I really felt that on the day, we said to each other, People have been really waiting for this moment and we really have to pull this off. What are we going to do?' But I think we did alright."

Since finding fame as a child star in the Harry Potter movies, Emma has become something of a style icon and has landed roles in films including My Week with Marilyn and The Tale of Desperaux. The 21-year-old beauty admits she had no idea how successful the Harry Potter franchise would become when she first won the part of Hermione.

She also didn't realise she would spend so much time working on the movies, and admits this makes her cautious when it comes to accepting other roles.

"Heck of a first job, yes! It's so funny, when I have signed on for other projects and other things, people don't realise why I get quite jumpy and quite concerned," she explained. "I think it is because I signed on for one thing and it turns into a 12-year project. I realise that everything else isn't going to be like, but I just can't believe what it turned into."
