Emma Watson: Style started at home

23rd July 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Emma Watson credits her father with helping her be fashion forward.

The actress has just finished promotional duties for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, the final movie in the wizard franchise. She's grown up on screen and as she's matured, her interest in style has increased.

Emma has modelled for Burberry and created a clothing like with People Tree, and insists her love of clothes started at home.

"My dad was very good when I was younger he always encouraged me to choose things for myself. I was never just given clothes. He would always take me out and I would choose," she told Shout magazine.

"That happened from a young age, around six or seven. He would take me out and let me choose what I wanted to wear, which was really nice. I was always allowed to have my own identity and I've held onto that very strongly."

It means Emma has a strong input when it comes to her red carpet outfits. She wore a gold Bottega Veneta to the recent New York premiere and an Oscar de la Renta ball gown to the London version.

"I refuse to be told what I should wear. So when stylists work with me, I'm never given something like, Oh here's a dress put it on,'" she explained. (C) Cover Media
