(Cover) - EN Movies - Emma Watson will reportedly star in a new movie version of Beauty and the Beast.
According to ComingSoon.net, Emma will play the heroine who is caught up in a torrid love affair with a beastly man. Acclaimed gothic filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is involved in the movie, but it's not known whether he will be directing. Producer Denise Di Novi told the film site she is developing the latest adaptation with the Pan's Labyrinth filmmaker, with Emma in mind for the lead role.
Guillermo is currently busy helming monster movie Pacific Rim, which stars Idris Elba.
The new movie will be Emma's first main lead blockbuster role following the end of the Harry Potter movies. She has a supporting turn in Marilyn Monroe biopic, My Week with Marilyn, and also has bagged a part in indie drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The latter film is said be completely different from her role in Harry Potter, and she couldn't be happier.
"It's so funny because I never thought I'd make another sort of high school-esque movie, and here I am in this coming-of-age, American teen [movie]," she remarked. "But it's very witty, and it's very funny and it's very moving, so I'm excited."
Beauty and Beast has been made several times, most famously Disney's Oscar-nominated animated film in 1991. (C) Cover Media
