The English actress is currently filming the movie adaption of teenage novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower in Pennsylvania and has revealed she is hoping that her time out there has improved her US twang.

The 21-year-old British star was embarrassed about showing off her dialect in a video filmed for MTV earlier this year.

In the clip, which became an online viral sensation, she was asked to pronounce The Olive Tree' with a North American accent. But Emma wasn't sure whether she managed to pull it off convincingly.

"I was really nervous! I think it sounded terrible," she admitted.

But the Harry Potter star is confident that her linguistic skills have improved since her last attempt. Having worked on set in Pittsburgh for a month, Emma thinks her accent is coming along well.

"It's good. Having been out in Pittsburgh for four weeks it's OK," she said. "It's good. I'm hopeful about it." (C) Cover Media
