Enrique Iglesias: I like talking to fans

10th October 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Enrique Iglesias says he will miss the day when fans stop asking him for autographs.

The Spanish-born singer is one of the music industrys most talented artists, achieving acclaim throughout the globe for his smooth vocals and romantic rhythms.

Enrique says he loves being famous, and doesnt get irritated by fans approaching him for a signature when they see him in public. In fact, Enrique admits he worries about the day when hes no longer recognised.

No, its good it means things are going well, he replied when Look magazine asked if adoring female fans ever embarrass him.

It maybe bothers me when Im eating, but Ill miss the day when nobody comes up to me and asks me for an autograph.

The 35-year-old musician understands fame is a fickle business, and he even laments the fact that some of his pals only contact him when his music is riding high in the charts. Enrique insists those people arent his true friends though, and are simply acquaintances who are only interested in networking with a successful star. Luckily for Enrique, he has a close-knit group of friends hes known all his life, so whenever he has a problem he goes straight to them.

The sad part about this business is youre only as good as your last hit. My phone rings more when a single or album is doing well. But Im not talking about my true friends. There are five guys who I grew up with who are like my family, and theyre always there, he gushed. (C) Cover Media
