(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kelsey Grammer has announced his girlfriend has suffered a miscarriage.

The 55-year-old actor and 29-year air stewardess Kayte Walsh revealed they were expecting their first child together in August. However, Kelsey has now said the couple are taking time to heal following the devastating loss.

"We lost our unborn child about six weeks ago," they said in a statement to People magazine. We would like to thank all of those who expressed kindness and concern but we needed a little time to heal, time to find some solace before we publicly acknowledged our loss."

The baby would have been Kelseys fifth child and Kaytes first.

Kelsey was first romantically linked to Kayte earlier this year - not long after he announced he was getting divorced from his third wife Camille Donatacci. He confirmed he was happy and in love soon after the pregnancy was revealed.

Camille filed for divorce in July citing irreconcilable differences, and asked for primary custody of their kids Mason, eight, and five-year-old Jude.

The actor also has daughters Spencer Grammer, 26, and Greer Kandace Grammer, 18, from other relationships. (C) Cover Media
