Eric Stonestreet is "insulted" that people think Charlize Theron would date him.

The Modern Family funnyman was linked to the gorgeous actress last month.

The 41-year-old has ridiculed the rumours, saying the Hollywood beauty would never fall for him.

"She [Charlize] is a beautiful woman," he told Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O.

"I am insulted, as her friend, that anyone would think she would stoop so low as to date me."

The actor picked up the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at this year's Emmy Awards.

However, the highlight for Eric was his co-star Sofa Vergara's wardrobe malfunction.

The stunning actress glitzy gown ripped at the back, revealing a little more skin than expected.

"Oh my god it was amazing, she was sitting right in front of me so I got an amazing view!" the actor laughed.

"My buddy, who was sitting next to me, was like, What's going on?' and I said, Look down,' and there was just this six-inch split. It was like a window to her crack! Her whole ass was right there. I thought, What are we going to do?' So we all stood up around her and created a shield."

Sofa laughed the incident off, even posting a picture of her exposed rear on Twitter.
