(Cover) - EN Movies - Eva Mendes appeared in Last Night so she could play with perceptions of a seductress.

The actress is currently promoting the romantic drama, which follows a married couple who are faced with temptation when spending a night away from each other.

Eva portrays alluring Laura in the picture and admits she initially worried about being cast in a seductive role.

"At first, I wasn't drawn to her. I loved the script, but I didn't want to do it. On paper she was a bit of a seductress, the other woman.

"But when I sat down with Massy [Tadjedin, director] she was like, That's why I want you, because I know you won't play her like that,'" Eva told Stylist.

The film also stars Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington as Joanna and Michael Reed.

Eva explains how a subtle portrayal was fundamental in maintaining credibility in her character's relationship with Sam's.

"If Laura was a vixen it would cheapen Sam Worthington's character because this isn't about obvious cheating," she explained. (C) Cover Media
