(Cover) - EN Star Style - Eva Mendes doesn't always want to look sexy.

The American actress is famed for her sultry looks and gorgeous figure, and is often cast in Hollywood movie roles that show off her beauty.

The 37-year-old has started to swap bigger projects for more character-driven roles, and has turned her back on complex make-up regimes in the process.

Eva says when playing Laura in recent movie Last Night, she waved goodbye to her usual glamorous look.

"In the opening scene I might have a little powder on my face and that was it," she confessed in an interview with British newspaper The Independent. "That may not sound like a big deal, but these are things that really help create a sexuality in my characters."

Eva believes her hair adds to her sex appeal because it's naturally "big". While filming for the romantic drama the production team wanted to strip her off her sexy look, so targeted her bouncy tresses.

"My hair, which as you can see today is naturally really big, we straightened it, tucked it behind and took away all the sex," she explained. (C) Cover Media
