(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ewan McGregor says his love scenes have become more "complicated" since he turned 40.
The Scottish-born actor celebrated his landmark birthday in March and insists he is happier than ever with his movie roles. Ewan's latest big screen outing sees him play Oliver in Beginners, a character whose father comes out when he is 75. The movie follows Olivier as he copes with his grief, and sees him bond with his father's dog Cosmo.
Oliver's love interest in the movie is Anna, who is played by Mlanie Laurent, and the actor enjoyed the complex relationships facing his character.
"I am 40, an age where romances start to get complicated but in a positive way, and for an actor it is extremely motivating to show these complex and emotional journeys through a realistic way," he told French magazine L'Express.
Ewan has also revealed he enjoyed the fast paced method of working on the movie. The star finds it frustrating if there are long delays in between scenes, but insists he was constantly busy while shooting Beginners.
"With Beginners, everything happened really quick and my excitement remained the same, whereas on the set of a Hollywood blockbuster you usually wait a few hours in your trailer between two sequences," he added. (C) Cover Media
