Fergie: I wont flash flesh at Super Bowl

4th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Fergie says it has been a challenge to choose her outfit for the Super Bowl this week.

The Black Eyed Peas are set to perform during halftime at the American football game on Sunday, and organisers want the show to be family friendly. Janet Jackson famously caused controversy at the 2004 Super Bowl when Justin Timberlake pulled off part of her costume and exposed her breast during their performance. The incident was later blamed on a wardrobe malfunction.

Fergie is keen to avoid a similar mishap and her stylist has spent a lot of time making sure her costume will be secure when she is on stage.

"It is a challenge because we want to give a bit of sex appeal but you dont want to get into any trouble. So we are very particular about the wardrobe, there will be no more malfunctions.

We are just making sure that everything is secure and tucked in and nobody is going to get angry, Fergie told ET. A little sex appeal is OK; I dont think there is anything wrong with that. I know that my stylist was talking to the NFL. There were definitely points of contention, you know, certain things cannot be shown. It is serious. I am getting a lot of rules."

Fergie and her bandmates will.i.am, Taboo and apl.de.ap are honoured to have been chosen to perform at the world famous sports event. They cant wait to take to the stage and believe their songs are perfect to play at the Super Bowl.

We do a lot of sports anthem type songs, we like to party and have a good time, Fergie added.

will.i.am has also revealed he will be Tweeting during their performance, in a bid to bring fans closer to the experience. (C) Cover Media
