(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Florence Welch is desperate for Eminems autograph.

The Florence and the Machine singer is hoping to meet the rapper at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. Florence is nominated for four prizes at the prestigious event, and is planning to take her old copy of Eminem record The Real Slim Shady so he can sign it if she bumps into him backstage.

"I think my sister has already asked me [all the questions]. Everyone at home is like, 'What's Lady Gaga like? Are you going to meet Eminem?!'" Florence laughed to MTV News. "The first single I ever bought was The Real Slim Shady, and my sister said that I should bring it to the VMAs and get him to sign it.

That'd be so funny. I'd be like, 'Hi, I bought this from Woolworth's when I was 11, can you sign it for me?' He'd be like, 'What's Woolworth's?' "

Woolworths was an iconic British retail chain that closed down last year.

Florence and the Machines Dog Days Are Over promo will compete against ones by Gaga and Eminem for the coveted Video of the Year prize. Florence and her band will also perform at the awards ceremony.

The singer has been rehearsing intensively for her performance, but says she will be completely unprepared if her band win anything. She joked she is considering getting an acceptance speech tattooed onto her arm so she wont forget to thank anyone important while shes in shock.

"I haven't really thought about it, actually. I don't know what I would say if I got up there, who I would thank," she laughed. "Maybe I'll get [a thank-you list] tattooed on my arm. I don't know. I am really unprepared for all of this."

The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will take place at Los Angeles Nokia Theatre on Sunday. Eminem has been announced as the opening act of the awards ceremony. (C) Cover Media
