20th December 2011 marks the 2nd Death anniversary of Brittany Murphy an American actress and singer.

She has acted in movies such as such as 'Clueless', 'Just Married', 'Girl Interrupted', 'Spin', '8 Mile', 'Uptown Girls', 'Sin City', 'Happy Feet', and 'Riding in Cars with Boys'.

Brittany Anne Murphy was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on 10th November ,1977. Her parents, were Sharon Kathleen Murphy and Angelo Joseph Bertolotti.

Murphy was well known for her portrayal of a geeky-nerdy girl most in need of a makeover in 'Clueless' starring Alicia Silverstone.  Brittany  has also worked in films such as 'Sidewalks of New York','Don't Say a Word','Little Black Book'.  She has also acted in the film 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' a mockumentary on stereotypical beauty pageant contestants.

Murphy impressed the audiences by doing voiceover projects as well. Murphy lent her voice to the animated TV series 'King of the Hill' as both Luann and Joseph. Murphy also provided the voice of Elijah Wood's love interest in the animated movie, 'Happy Feet'. Not only was she called upon to act the part of a singing penguin in that family film, Murphy also sang "Somebody to Love" and "Boogie Wonderland" (both songs are included on the 'Happy Feet' soundtrack).  Her final film, 'Something Wicked', was released on 25th August 2011. She passed away on 20th December 2009  due to pneumonia.
