Gabrielle Union says she learned a lot from her divorce to ex-NFL pro Chris Howard.

The actress stars in upcoming movie Think Like A Man, based on comedian Steve Harvey's book, and says that she is now very clear about what she wants in a relationship.

The 39-year-old starlet told People magazine about what is most important to her in her dating life.

"I think after divorce I've learned 1,001 lessons," she told the publication.

"You just have to be very clear about what you want and what you need. More than anything, my rule is to be incredibly honest."

Gabrielle has been dating Miami Heat guard Dwayne Wade for around two years now and said that although she is usually the one cheering him on at his basketball games, he had the opportunity to be there for her during production.

"Filming was during the [NBA] lockout, so Dwayne was on-set," she shared. "He had a lot of opinions about the film. But it's the first time he was carrying the bag, driving the car and being the cheerleader on the sidelines, so it was nice."
