Actor Ganja Karuppu made his debut through Bala's film 'Pithamagan'. He became popular through his next film 'Ram' directed by Ameer. After that he continued to act in more than 50 films in comedy roles. Now for the first time he is donning the lead role. Dhanasekaran who was the assistant of Madesh is directing this film 'Mannar Valaikuda'. There are three heroines in this film and all of them are new faces. This film is based on the lives of fishermen. Ganja Karuppu is donning the role of a fisherman.

Dhanasekaran while speaking about this film said,” This film is based on the lives of fishermen. The story of this film is about what happens if an ordinary man gets angered. This film is based on some real incidents that have taken place. Ganja Karuppu is donning the lead role for the first time. He will appear throughout the film. There are song sequences in this film but there are no duets. The shooting of the film is to commence soon. Most of the shooting is to take place in Rameswaram and some sequences are to be shot in Trichy.”
