George Clooney ignores Oscar buzz

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - George Clooney doesn't "pay attention" to awards rumours.

The actor-and-director has been surrounded by Oscar rumours since his new film The Ides of March was released this month. The political thriller was co-written and directed by George. He also plays a political candidate in the movie alongside Ryan Gosling and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

At the New York premiere of his new movie The Descendants, George admits that he tries to ignore any award gossip.

"I've been in and out of that buzz many times in my life," he was quoted as saying on PerezHilton.com. "And I've really gotten very good at not paying attention to things like that, because here's the funniest thing: I really like making the movies. That's really fun to do. I like directing them, I like acting in them when they work. And if people appreciate that, what really lasts is the movies. Really, truly, it's a funny thing. I don't remember who wins awards, I remember the movies when I see them. And that's what I like the most about it."

After the premiere George left the official after-party with his new girlfriend, former wrestler Stacy Keibler. The pair dined at Tribeca eatery Landmarc with a few close friends and celebrated George's movies and Stacy's 32nd birthday.

"George was so eager to find Stacy that he rushed right past her in the crowd on his way out of the party," a source told New York Post. "Once outside, he started texting her again and sent one of his bodyguards to look for her. George then couldn't fight a smile as he saw her, in her long black dress, walking out towards him."
