(Cover) - EN Showbiz - George Clooney's house is reportedly in lockdown for his fundraising dinner for the US President.
The actor is hosting the event at his Los Angeles home on Thursday night to raise money for Barack Obama's re-election campaign. The US Secret Service is teaming up with the Los Angeles Police Department and the California Highway Patrol to keep the leader safe, law enforcement sources told TMZ.
George is also hiring his own security team to protect himself and his guests.
Other measures include air patrol, sniffer dogs and plain clothes officers. Roads will be closed to the public during the event.
High-profile guests are expected to include Tobey Maguire, Barbra Streisand, Robert Downey Jr. and J.J. Abrams. The dinner is being organised by DreamWorks Animation Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg and his political advisor Andy Spahn.
The political fundraiser is expected to make $15 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Guests are paying $40,000 per head but it will account for just over one-third of the money raised.
The rest of the money comes from the general public who paid donations as part of an online contest. Tens of thousands of people have forked out donations averaging $23 each for the chance to be one of two chosen to be part of the extravaganza. (C) Cover Media
