In the temple city Melkote near Mandya district, the team of Sandesh Combines erected a graveyard and shot for the film 'Veerabahu'. The protagonist is the guard of a graveyard in the film. The news of erecting a graveyard was kept as high secret because the religious people in Melkote where Vishistadwaitha God idol Sri Cheluvanarayana swamy is situated may object to it. There is of course a real graveyard at a far off distance in Melkote but it is strictly not given for shooting. Director S Mahender has cleverly managed a few days shoot at this place and mixed it up with the real graveyard to avoid controversies of shooting in actual graveyard. In the film 'Veerabahu' Vijay the action hero plays the lead while the Iyengar religious background role is played by Nidhi Subbaiah.
