(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Halle Berry feels relieved to have resolved her custody issues with Gabriel Aubry, revealing they both love their daughter more than life.

The former couple were embroiled in a legal battle over three-year-old Nahla in recent months. However, the Oscar-winning actress has now revealed they have come to an agreement and they are determined to get along for the sake of their child.

"When theres a child involved, its a relief when you can resolve things in a good way. Our issues were never about fighting for her," Halle told Extra. "We both know a child needs both her parents. But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse. We both love her more than life.

The pair had been arguing over whether Nahla should travel from Los Angeles where Gabriel lives to New York, while Halle was filming new movie New Years Eve.

The star backed out of a lead role in the film because of the custody dispute, but has since re-joined the cast in a smaller role after it was ruled she could take her daughter to New York while she was working.

Both parties are happy with the legal decisions which have been made and are ready to move on with their lives.

We needed a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues, and I'm so happy we've arrived at that place, Halle explained. Because for her sake, this is the best way.

The 44-year-old star admits the legal process has been draining, but she is pleased it has now been settled. "It's been a year full of challenges," she added.

Halle recently decided to pull out of a theatre role in Broadway to focus on her custody battle.

Halle and Gabriel ended their relationship last year, and in December the male model filed papers asking to be formally recognised as the father of Nahla and requesting shared custody of the child. There were reports that Halle had concerns about her daughters well-being when she was with her father for long periods. (C) Cover Media
