One of Bollywood's top actors Anil Kapoor will be turning 51 today.

Anil Kapoor was born on 24th December 1959, to producer Surinder Kapoor and Nirmal a home maker. Anil Kapoor's elder brother, Boney Kapoor, is a film producer while younger brother Sanjay Kapoor is also an actor.

He first appeared on the silver screen in 'Humhare Tumhare'. His first lead role was in 'Woh 7 Din' . He has acted in close to a 100 movies. He has produced two movies "Gandhi My Father" & "Badhaai Ho Badhaai" as well as been a casting director/outdoor in charge for 'Hum Paanch'.

Anil Kapoor has give lot of hit films like 'Mr India', 'Tezaab', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Parinda', 'Eshwar', 'Kishen Kanhaiya', 'Lamhe', 'Khel', 'Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja' and many more.

In 'Judaai', Anil's depiction of a loving husband twisted between his two wives was appreciated and this film fared well at the box office. 'Deewana Mastana',  'Biwi No.1', and 'Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain', were box office hits.

Anil Kapoor's unusual characterization of a possessive, insecure and a crooked musical superstar in 'Taal'  won him many accolades.  He also won rave reviews for his superb performance in 'Virasat"  a remake of the Tamil film, 'Thevar Magan' . He also starred in the film 'Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate', which was legendary filmmaker, Hrishikesh Mukherji's last commercial release, along with Juhi Chawla.

Anil Kapoor's first role in an international film was in Danny Boyle's 2008 Academy Award-winning film 'Slumdog Millionaire', for which he shared the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. He had appeared in the show 24 over a long period of time. He was recently seen in the film Mission "Impossible 4- Ghost Protocol"
