Atif Aslam, a Pakistani pop singer and film actor who has received so much recognition and appreciation in India, has his birthday today.

Atif Aslam was born in 1983 in Pakistan. He studied at PAF College, Lahore, where he completed his F.Sc (Pre-engineering) with the class of 2001. He won his first singing competition on Independence Day celebrations in the college. Thereafter, he also won several other college competitions. His band is called Jal and he gave several hit songs with this band. After leaving Jal, Atif released his first solo album, Jal Pari, on 19 July 2004, under Sound Master and IC records. He also became popular in India; his second album, Doorie, was released on 22 December 2006. 

After becoming popular as a singer in Bollywood, he also tried his hand in Hollywood. In 2010, Atif acted in the movie Bol, and sang two songs for the movie.
