It is the 30th of January, birthday of the Dark Knight; Yes, our very own Christian Bale. 

Born in Wales, Christian Bale travelled a lot, throughout his childhood. As a child, he trained in ballet and guitar and his sister Louise's theatre work also served as an influence on his decision to become an actor. 

His first TV appearance was through a commercial for Lenor, a fabric softener, in 1982 and then for Pac-Man cereal as a child rock star. He made his stage debut alongside Rowan Atkinson in The Nerd. He made his debut in films through the made-for-television film Anatasia: The Mystery of Anna in 1986. His co-star in this film recommended him to Steven Speilberg, her then husband. The big break he got through this won him the first ever "Best Performance by a Juvenile Actor" Award. There was no looking back for him now. His biggest and the most memorable role till date would be Batman in the Batman series.

Throughout his career, Bale has won several awards. He won the Golden Globe Award for the Best Supporting Actor and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and thirty other awards for his role in the movie Fighter alone. 

Bale's personal life has not been so much on the press radar. In 2000, he married Winona Ryder and now the couple has a daughter, Emmeline. 

Bale's life is not restricted to acting alone, but he extends his hand towards societal benefits as well. He actively supports environmental groups like Greenpeace and World Wildlife Fund.
