Happy Birthday George Clooney...

The fans and followers of Hollywood hottie George Clooney have a reason to celebrate today; after all it’s his birthday. Yes, Georgie turns a year older today, but people, does he look any older?

Clooney had a roller coaster ride before he made it big in Hollywood. He started his acting career with television wherein his first role was as an extra in the TV series Centennial in 1978. He played several cameos and small roles in television shows and finally got noticed after portraying a semi-regular supporting role in the sitcom Roseanne. 

Clooney became a star after he played Dr Doug Ross in the NBC drama ER along with which he started doing Hollywood flicks like From Dusk Till Dawn (he won MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance and Saturn Award for Best Actor). He later did series of films like One Fine Day, The Peacemaker, Batman & Robin et al which made him internationally popular.    

George Clooney won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the Middle East thriller Syriana (2005) and subsequently fetched Best Actor nominations for such films as Michael Clayton (2007), Up in the Air (2009) and The Descendants (2011).

Apart from being an actor George Clooney is also known as a producer, director, writer, humanitarian, and Column Writer. Clooney has advocated a resolution of the Darfur conflict and was arrested outside the Sudanese Embassy for civil disobedience, during a protest. Clooney had planned to be arrested when he planned the protest. Several other prominent participants in the protest were also arrested, including Martin Luther King III.

The multi-talented actor was voted the sexiest man alive by People Magazine in 2006. 

The actor at present has decided that he will support President Barack Obama in 2012 reelection campaign and he will host a fundraiser for the President at his home on May 10, 2012.
