Popular Hollywood actress Helena Bonham Carter celebrates her birthday today. The actress who is popular as the Bellatrix of Harry Potter series and the evil Mrs Lovett of Sweeney Todd was born on 26th May 1966.

Helena, who is not exactly a trained actor began her career after she won a national writing contest. She used the money to pay for her entry into the actors directory Spotlight. She made her professional acting debut at the age of 16 in a television commercial.

Her breakthrough role was Lucy Honeychurch in A Room with a View and later followed her series of successful performances in all her releases. 

Her popular movies include the Harry Potter series, Sweeney Todd- The Demon Barber of the Fleet Street, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, The King's Speach etc. 

The actress won her first  nomination as Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at BAFTA for her role in Howards End. 

She has also won Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, Chlotrudis Award for Best Actress and Fantasporto International Fantasy Film Award for Best Actress for her role in Margaret’s Museum. 

Helena also bagged several of awards for her performance in the film The Wings of Dove.
