Kirsten Dunst popularly known as Mary Jane Watson from Spider-Man trilogy turns a year older today.
Kirsten began her career at the early age of three as a fashion model in television commercials and at the age of eight she already started her career in films with Woody Allen’s Oedipus Rex, a short-film. By the age of 12 she already had her name in the list of Nominees of the Golden Globe Best Actress Supporting role for the movie Interview With The Vampire. Also she won the MTV Award for Best Breakthrough Performance.
Kirsten became an international name after she appeared as Mary Jane in the Spiderman trilogy opposite Tobey Maguire. Since then her films have included the romantic comedy Wimbledon, the romantic science fiction Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Cameron Crowe's tragicomedy Elizabethtown. She played the title role in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette and starred in the comedy How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. She won the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011 for her performance in Lars von Trier's Melancholia.
Apart from being an actor Kirsten has shined as a singer as well. Dunst made her singing debut in the 2001 film Get Over It, performing two songs written by Marc Shaiman. In Spider-Man 3, she sang two songs as part of her role as Mary Jane Watson, one during a Broadway performance, and one as a singing waitress in a jazz club.
Being a popular actress today, one of her biggest aspirations is to direct a feature film in future.
