Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom a.k.a "Legolas" will be celebrating his 35th birthday today.

The actor Orlando Bloom was classically trained at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Shortly after his graduation in 1999 he was cast as the elf Legolas in the feature film trilogy "The Lord of the Rings", directed by Peter Jackson and based on the hit fantasy novel by J.R.R. Tolkien.

The film came out in 2001 and made Bloom both a star and a favorite heartthrob to teenage girls. He also starred in the sequels "The Two Towers" and "The Return of the King". Orlando Bloom's other films include "Wilde" , "Black Hawk Down"  , "The Kelly Gang" , "Elizabethtown" and "Main Street".

Bloom starred alongside Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley in the swashbuckling adventures "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" and its sequels "Dead Man's Chest"  and "At World's End". He has also starred in movies such as "New York, I Love You", "Sympathy for Delicious", "Main Street", "The Good Doctor", "The Three Musketeers", was his last release.

He will soon be seen in the epic fantasy film "The Hobbit" also based on the book by J.R.R Tolkien. The movie and books are said to be a prelude to the "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy .
