The legendary "Family" of Bollywood- The Kapoors, has given us many gems and one of them is Randhir Kapoor. He is the eldest son of Raj Kapoor.

Randhir Kapoor made his acting and directorial debut with Kal Aaj Aur Kal (1971) which also starred his wife, father and grandfather. The film, produced under the R.K banner, was an average success. In 1975 he directed and starred alongside his father once again in Dharam Karam which was a failure at the box office. He went on to appear in other multi-star hit films: Chacha Bhatija (1977), Kasme Vaade (1978) (he earned a Filmfare nomination as Best Supporting Actor) and Pukar (1983). Though he was not successful as a lead actor, his multi-starrer movies were definite hits. 

After the 1984 film Khazana he quit acting and took to producing and directing. In 1991 he directed Henna. It was at first directed by his father. But when his father died during production, Randhir completed the film for him. He earned a Filmfare nomination for Best Director.

Randhir married actress Babita on 6 November 1971 after co-starring with her in Kal Aaj Aur Kal. Actresses Karishma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are his two daughters. 

Despite his age, his still is in high spirits when it comes to working in the films. He appeared in the movie Housefull and Action Replay (2010). He will also appear in the sequel Housefull 2 in 2012.
