Happy Birthday Steve carell

What’s the smartest way to play dumb? Steve Carell respond that question conveniently when he appears on screen. The hilarious, serious and comical Steve Carell turns 50 years old today. Steve was born on August 16, 1962 in Concord, Massachusetts. The comedic actor is adored by many for the likeable characters and roles that he has played, but also because Steve seems to be a fun and likeable guy himself. Carell almost always brings a likeability and endearing quality to his characters.

In early 2000s, Steve was in a couple of movies that put him in the public eye. In 2003, he had the role of Evan Baxter in “Bruce Almighty” and the spinoff with the same name. The film that really gained Steve notice was “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” His character of Brick Tamland was so bizarre that Steve stole many of the scenes he was in.

In 2005, Steve gained the role of Office Manager Michael Scott on the NBC comedy “The Office.” Michael was always saying the wrong and often inappropriate things, but Steve portrayed Michael in a way that fans immediately fell in love with the character. Carell played Michael Scott for seven seasons on the show, leaving with a very emotional episode. Steve was nominated for an Emmy six times for his role, as well as six times for the Golden Globes. He won a Golden Globe in 2006, but never an Emmy.

While on “The Office,” Carell’s film career began to skyrocket. In 2005, Steve starred in the film “The 40 Year Old Virgin.” The film was hilarious and gained Steve a great number of fans. In 2006, Steve had a starring role in the Academy awards nominated comedy drama “Little Miss Sunshine”. After “Little Miss Sunshine,” Steve continued to star in many films, including “Dan in Real Life,” “Get Smart,” “Date Night,” “Dinner for Schmucks” and “Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Earlier this year, Steve was in the film “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World” and can currently be seen in the film “Hope Springs” which is in theaters everywhere. Along with being on screen in many films, Carell has also done voice work in the movies “Over the Hedge,” “Horton Hears a Who!” and “Despicable Me.”

In honor of the gifted comedian, Celebrate Steve’s birthday by watching an episode or two of “The Office” or watch one of his movies. Happy Birthday Steve Carell!
