(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dame Helen Mirren wishes she was more accomplished at different accents.

The 65-year-old actress is best known for her Oscar-winning performance playing Britains Queen Elizabeth II in 2006 movie The Queen, for which she had to perfect a regal voice.

Helen is married to American director Taylor Hackford, although she doesnt feel his accent has rubbed off on her at all.

I dont know, I sound so silly when I put one on! she replied when the British edition of OK! magazine asked if she finds it easy to mimic her husbands twang.

Im not very good at accents anyway. Maybe to an English ear I do have a bit of an American accent.

Helen also revealed her bewilderment that she and Taylor still sometimes have difficulties understanding one another. The pair have been an item for years, although still discover nuances in their native dialects.

What I find amazing with Taylor is that weve been together since 1984 so its a long time and we still find phrases that the other person doesnt understand! she laughed. (C) Cover Media
