(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Hilary Duff has revealed she chipped a tooth on her wedding day.

The star married ice hockey player Mike Comrie in an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara last weekend, but the day didn’t get off to the best start.

The singer and actress panicked when she realised she had chipped a tooth in the morning before the ceremony and had to be rushed to a dentist for emergency treatment.

"I started my day with a chipped tooth!” she told the American edition of OK! magazine. “My wedding planner snuck me out to the dentist! Thank goodness it was fixed within the hour."

Once the drama of the tooth incident was over, Hilary, 22, and Mike, 29, exchanged vows in front of 100 family members and close friends.

The ceremony was held at sunset and the bride walked down an aisle strewn with rose petals and candles.

"It was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever seen," gushed one guest. "Absolutely stunning. They thought of every last detail and it was an incredible sight."

The pair had been dating since 2007, with Mike proposing to Hilary while they were on holiday in Hawaii in February. (C) Cover Media
