Hindi Soap Opera: Getting A Tad Too Controversial

30th December 2010

December 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Colors channel seems to be in the top list of showing content that is far too high handed than the set standard norms by the Cable Network Regulations Act 1995.

The latest reports doing the rounds suggest that the channel has come again under the hammer of the I&B Ministry for showing too much of violence against women and foul language which goes way beyond the permissible limits. Hindi soap opera is certainly getting a tad too controversial in recent times.

The show which has now grabbed the attention of the ministry is Rishton Se Badi Pratha which has too many violence inflicted scenes against women and derogatory language. Thus these torture scenes which are a common sight in the show have not gone down well with the law makers and watchers.

The reports doing the rounds are that if within a period of seven days there will be no action taken to make amends by the channel authororities on this ground then there will be strict action taken by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry in this matter and it shall be taken to task under the Cable Network Regulations Act of 1995.

After having to face the wrath of the I& B Ministry for the content in the reality show 'Bigg Boss 4' and many threats to change the show timings from prime time to a late night one, this show on Colors channel too has to show some credibility to survive on the channel albeit with valid reasons.
