Allegations of copying songs or tunes are very common in the film industry. However, this time things went a little out of hand for Ilaiyaraaja and Ram Gopal Varma when the former took a legal action against the latter.

Apparently, RGV wanted to use Ilaiyaraaja's famous Aasai Nooru Vagai from the Rajini starrer, 'Adutha Varisu' for his Hindi film, 'Department' starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rana Daggubati. Initially reluctant Ilaiyaraaja agreed to let them use 30 seconds of the tune. However, the music maestro was surprised when he heard the tune being used in the entire song.

Ilaiyaraaja bought this to their notice, however, Department team refused to respond. An agitated Ilaiyaraaja took a legal action as the last resort.

The Judge has ordered a stay on the song for a week so that the issue can be resolved.
