I'm a very under-confident person: Anushka Sharma

8th April 2013

In an interview at TOIFA 2013, Anushka Sharma spoke about her career in Bollywood, the characters she plays and what she is in real life. She might be an outgoing and an extrovert onscreen, but in real she is just the opposite.

"I am a very under-confident person. Whatever is seen in films is just a projection of my character. I wish I could be as confident as the characters I play onscreen, but I am not. I am a very shy person," Anushka said.

The actress has done five films in a career span of five years. Making her debut with Shah Rukh Khan in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', she also starred with him in 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.

Both the roles were quite the opposite. While in the first, she played a quiet girl-next-door, in the latter Anushka was seen as a daring documentary filmmaker.

She was also seen in 'Band Baaja Baaraat' as a bubbly wedding planner, the film 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' and recently in 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola'.

Anushka has made a huge place for herself in Bollywood, but entering the glamorous world was never planned.

"It wasn't planned as I came from Bangalore. We don't have the influence of films. I didn't grow up watching films, so it wasn't a decision to be an actor. But God had something different planned for me," she said.
