I'm attracted towards doing grey shades, says Varun

Being the latest heartthrob in the Bollywood film industry, Varun Dhawan has already carved a niche for himself with his first movie itself. Starring in the film 'Student of the Year' (SOTY) with co-stars Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, Varun talks about attending his first award ceremony ever.

Despite being from a family who belongs to the industry, Varun never attended the award functions as his father David Dhawan would hardly spend any time himself.

"This was my first attendance at the Filmfare award function. I've never attended any Filmfare ceremony before because my father attends award ceremonies only for 10-15 minutes. Since I was hosting the show and performing as well, I had to force him to attend the function. It feels great and I was quite excited," said Varun.

His first movie 'SOTY' was a success. Playing the son of a business tycoon who had a strained relationship with his father, Varun now wants to concentrate on meaty roles and wishes to play a negative character in the future.

"I want to do a negative character as well. I am attracted towards doing grey shades because it will give me a chance to show their point of view, their side and the psyche of the negative character," concludes Varun.
