26th June 2014

Till date we've had biopics, stories of partition, independence struggle, riots, etc. But we never had a story on the stupendous success of our victory in 1983 in the world of cricket.

The latest we hear is the grapevine which suggests that a film is being made on the Indian Cricket team's victory in 1983 World Cup series.

The picture of the then captain Kapil Dev lifting the trophy in Lords stadium's balcony is etched in the memories of every Indian. And soon the memory will be made eternal with a screen adaptation of the real life incident.

Vishu Vardhan, the owner of Celebrity Cricket League, is producing this film while Sanjay Puran Singh who won national award for his film 'Lahore' is helming the film as a director.

They exclaim that they are very excited to make this film and put the history on screen. The then Indian team will be helping the film's team to put the details in the script in order.

Kapil Dev is elated with the fact that the victory will be relived through the film and he is ready to contribute towards the ideas already.
