Injury Continues In The Spider-Man Broadway Musical

21st December 2010

December 21, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark has been hitting the headlines since the beginning but mostly for the wrong reasons. There were many incidents of injury and setbacks during the preview period and the cases of injury continue even now.

On Monday night, another male actor got injured while performing a stunt scene on the stage. The $65 million musical features lots of complicated aerial stunts and thus leading to injuries to the actors. The audience witnessed the accident in front of their eyes when the actor or his stunt double fell about 8 to 10 feet just minutes before closing of the show. In fact, the audience was also in risk as some equipment fell into them.

A police spokesman confirmed the news saying that the injured male actor has been taken to the Bellevue Hospital Center. One of the witnesses was quoted saying that the actor fell at a faster pace and then an ambulance took the actor away. Another audience witnessing the event said that the accident happened when Spider-Man was in the process of rescuing his lady Mary Jane while she is dangling from a rope attached to a bridge. The actor playing the Spider-Man tripped and fell from the bridge into an open pit situated at the end of the stage.

It seems that the makers have spent a huge $65 million for the musical but they forgot to take care of such probable incidents on the stage!
