Abhay Deol has always worn his heart on his sleeve and has never refrained from calling a spade a spade. This time, again, he was at his casual best when he expressed his disappointment caused by the stagnant stage of his film
'Rock the Shaadi'.
The film has been in news for more than two years now. It was supposed to be India's first zombie film but things didn't work out in its favor and
'Go Goa Gone' which was simultaneously announced then went ahead to be the pioneer of the 'zombie-comedy' genre.
As for 'Rock the Shaadi', the film is still stuck in the rut.
'Rock The Shaadi' garnered negative publicity for being stalled several times for going over budget but it failed to recover from that stage.
Abhay who played a key role in putting everything together for the film recently confessed that he is disappointed.
"It is frustrating. I was angry for some time. Both I and Navdeep Singh had put in months of hard work and energy. It was very sad when it did not happen. Then all sort of stories started floating around, it is not director's fault, I was around. I have no idea where the project stands, if it is a legal issue or not, I have no clue about it," said Abhay.
However, he is hopeful that film's producer
Ekta Kapoor will definitely take steps to revive it soon.
"It is a brilliant film; it is one of the funniest films I have ever done and I have known Ekta since many years, she is a sweet heart. It was my first collaboration with her. What has happened is tragic. I still hope that Ekta would pick it up again, which I think she can," Abhay added.
