Vinod Bachchan's 'Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana', directed by Ratnaa Sinha and featuring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda opened to an encouraging response on its release day. This content-driven film got a slow start by earning 1.62 crores on day one. Looks like the word of mouth has been working for this family-drama flick. Things are looking bright for the family entertainer with an underlying message of female education as it has earned Rs 7.46 crores in opening weekend (excluding overseas).

Early reports also suggest that the family entertainer will continue to go strong over the holiday weekend. With interesting narrative, real backdrop, fascinating music and stupendous performances, 'Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana' makes for the first choice for the cine-goers among the other releases this week.

The film witnessed an impressive growth over the weekend and has managed to get a good number of footfalls on Saturday (Rs 2.58 crores) and Sunday (Rs 3.24 crores) thereby making the weekend total to Rs 7.46 crores India Biz. (excluding overseas).

Producer Vinod Bachchan says, "Irrespective of last-minute jerks from the multiplexes leading to disruption among the shows all over India, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is well on its way to making a considerable profit at the box office."

'Qarib Qarib Singlle' that bunched 8.3 cr in the opening weekend. Not much is the difference though. Director Ratnaa Sinha adds, "I can only be grateful for the really positive response the film is getting. It's not a feeling one can express. Viewers watched the film repeatedly and tweeted to me with promises to watch it again. I'm very grateful for such encouragement."
