January 17, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Hollywood actor James Franco will be seen playing a real life stalker and serial killer in his next film titled The Night Stalker, which is based on a book of the same name. Franco will also be directing the movie during this summer when he will be taking a break from studies at Yale.

Chris Cornell, the lead singer of Sound garden is the co-producer of the movie along with Nicolas Constantine. Nicolas has also written the screenplay of the movie. A serial killer named Richard Ramirez will be played by Franco. Ramirez was found culprit of killing 13 people and fives attempted murders and 11 sexual assaults. Apart from this, he was found guilty of 14 burglaries in 1985. Now, he is facing the death sentence in California.

The Night Stalker will portray Franco as a rapist and murderer in the middle of 1980s. One of the screenwriter of the film, Nicolas said that he has no idea if Franco will do it because the topic is based on a very dark subject. He added that he was informed that Franco is studying to learn direction and that is best for him.

However, it does not matter if the character is very dark because he as an actor, who got a Golden Globe nomination, Franco cannot be so choosy about any particular genre!
