The 43-year-old actor-and-singer had planned for confetti cannons to shoot sparkly paper over the heads of the crowd when the clock struck midnight at a glamorous party held at the glamorous LIV nightclub in Miamis Fontainebleau Hotel.

Jamie was disappointed when the cannons failed to go off at the turn of 2011, so according to the New York Post he ordered the crowd to redo the countdown at 12.01 am, and they gladly obliged, meaning that in theory they enjoyed double the New Years Eve fun.

Reality television star Kourtney Kardashian also suffered a New Years Eve malfunction as she hosted a soiree at the trendy Gansevoort Hotel in Miami. The 31-year-old celebrity ended up having to shout at the top of her voice as she counted down to midnight because the microphone she was holding wasnt switched on.

Despite this minor glitch, the evening was a huge success, with Kourtney looking stunning in a one-shoulder turquoise dress by Bodyamr. Her boyfriend Scott Disick also looked smart at the event, donning a dinner jacket and bow tie. (C) Cover Media
