(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Janelle Mone has revealed her job as a musician is to "open people's minds".
The American singer is signed to Sean P. Diddy' Combs' label Bad Boy Records and is currently enjoying success with her debut album The ArchAndroid (Suits II and III).
The 25-year-old star, who cites Michael Jackson, Prince, Grace Jones and David Bowie amongst her musical influences, believes that music should change people's outlook on life.
"I never go into situations thinking that people are not open-minded. I'm never looking for a reaction that's gratifying for me. "But as an artist that's your purpose. To open people's minds so that they can maybe take a different perspective on the world, on life."
Janelle has revealed she is gearing up to begin her next project. The stunning star has been working hard to make sure it is "magical".
"I've been watching a lot of inspirational movies, listening to great music and pow wow-ing with other artists," she revealed. "I'm mixing the ingredients for my next project and it is going to be absolutely incredible, magical and right now I'm at one of my greatest points creatively." (C) Cover Media
