(Cover) - EN Showbiz - January Jones is desperate to find an "interesting" man to date, as being a mother and wife is her priority.
The actress announced she is expecting her first child last month, although she's so far remained tight-lipped about who the baby's father is. Although the single star won't discuss that aspect of her life, January is happy to admit she'd love to be in a relationship, and dreams of finding the perfect partner who will sweep her off her feet.
"I would love to find an interesting man to date, but people don't seem to date so much anymore. It's more of a hanging out process," she told British newspaper The Daily Mirror
"It's hard to find romance the kind of love story that carries you away. I would love to have that. I'm pretty idealistic and I come from a very closely-knit family. Being a mother and a wife is very important to me. It's a major priority, for sure."
January is best known for her portrayal of ice queen Betty Draper in US television series Mad Men. Although she loves the part, she's desperate to branch out into new things. The 33-year-old is terrified of being typecast, which is why she's trying to play an array of characters.
She can soon be seen as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class and hopes playing a superhero will go some way towards showing her wide-ranging talent.
"I'm in a stronger place in my career now but I'm still fighting for people to have an open mind and a broader imagination about the things I can do," she said. "I'm trying to portray other characters and get people to believe in me in other roles."
The movie is directed by Matthew Vaughn and January is thankful he gave her a chance. Emma has the ability to turn herself into a diamond and is regularly seen in skimpy outfits, so she was a lot of fun to play.
"I've had to fight blonde stereotypes my entire career until Matthew gave me a role I could make my own," she explained.
"I love being at a point where you start seeing the possibilities unfold. I just hope I can also meet a great man who's going to make me feel that my life isn't just about the work." (C) Cover Media
