Jared Followill: KOL need reality show

24th June 2011

(Cover) - -No story type selected- - Jared Followill has joked that Kings of Leon should have their own reality show.

The rocker and his brothers Caleb, Nathan, Jared and their cousin Matthew are the subjects of new feature-length documentary Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon.

The picture charts the group's simple, religious upbringing and their rise to fame. Jared has claimed that he enjoyed being involved in the documentary so much that he wants the band to follow in the footsteps of musicians including Ozzy Osbourne and Jessica Simpson by becoming reality TV stars.

"I definitely think we should. I think we should have a reality show in fact," Jared quipped in an interview with British newspaper The Independent. "Only kidding."

The footage was gathered over a period of eight years and features clips recorded by the band using handheld cameras. The revealing documentary sheds light on the band's strict Pentecostal childhoods in Oklahoma and Tennessee.

The rockers have no regrets about leaving behind their Christian roots to pursue a career in the music industry, but won't rule out a return to that lifestyle in the future.

"As soon as I knew we were getting a record deal I never slept. I knew I was going to hell and I wasn't going to be a preacher," Caleb said.

"You can't reconcile it, you have to basically ignore it," Jared added. "Obviously if we still had the same beliefs as before then we'd have to quit the band and start going to church. You just have to act as if that didn't happen, live our lives for now and think that maybe one day if you decide to you could go back to that." (C) Cover Media
