Jason Biggs has joked he'll see how his home renovation is going before signing on to another American Pie movie.

The star appears in the latest instalment of the gross-out franchise American Reunion, with stars including Mena Suvari, Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid and Seann William Scott also reprising their roles.

The film sees the group of childhood friends meeting up for their high school reunion and tackling the problems that come with adulthood at the same time.

Jason isn't sure whether he will appear in another of the films, although he hasn't completely ruled it out.

"Well, we'll see how my renovation goes on my house. Depending on that" he laughed. "I think we all did this after each film, we're like, Oh I don't know, I don't know if it's possible.' And then we end up back. The truth is the opportunity to come back and work with these friends is always something I'm personally open to. Really though the story has to be right, the spirit has to be right, there's a lot of things that have to come together. We'll see, ultimately the audience dictate it."

The first American Pie movie hit screens in 1999, the same year Mena's movie American Beauty was released.

She famously posed naked on a bed of rose petals for American Beauty, an image which many people have tried to recreate. When presented with a picture of a TV host posing on a bed of onions while on UK TV show Lorraine, neither Mena nor Jason could believe their eyes.

"I have the onion poster in my room. It's pretty hot makes me cry nightly," Jason laughed.

Mena added: "I don't [have the American Pie picture of me], they never sent me one!"
