Scarlett Johansson "applied for a liver transplant and prayed" before joining the male-dominated cast of Avengers Assemble.
The actress stars in the hotly-anticipated Marvel superheroes film alongside an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Evans.
Scarlett made sure her hair and make-up teams brought an air of femininity to the set.
"I surrounded myself with a lot of girls so that we sort of counterbalanced we tried to like, hold down the fort a little bit. You just have to bring it and hold your own," she told Access Hollywood.
"I have to say these guys like to play hard really hard. So, you just have to apply for a liver transplant and pray".
Scarlett is also gearing up to play Janet Leigh in Sacha Gervasi's Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins.
The blonde beauty thinks the veteran actor will impress audiences with his version of Hitchcock.
"I've seen some make-up tests recently, and just watching [Anthony] play Hitchcock is pretty memorable in itself," she explained. "He's gonna be bananas! I can't wait for that I'm very excited."
