(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jason Segel is taking his romance with actress Michelle Williams "in stride".

The couple were friends for years and have recently began dating.

Michelle is mother to six-year-old daughter Matilda with her late ex actor Heath Ledger.

Jason has embraced his internal paternal nature and is happy to accept greater responsibility.

"I never thought Jason would ever date someone with a kid," a source told Us Weekly magazine. "But he's taking everything in stride. He's ready to be a grown-up."

Jason has established a good relationship with Matilda.

"[Matilda] loves Jason," a second source detailed. "Jason knows how to entertain children. You can't be that obsessed with puppets and not learn a few things!"

Jason was recently seen holding his cell phone that had pictures of Michelle taped on the back with the phrase "I love you" written around it.

Jason, 32, has previously being linked to Lindsay Lohan.
