Jason Statham: I can't compete with Stallone

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jason Statham wishes he had Sylvester Stallone's genes.

The 43-year-old British actor appeared in last year's adventure hit The Expendables alongside movie hunks such as Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke and Jet Li. Action icon Sylvester, 64, directed and starred in the picture about a team of mercenaries trying to overthrow a dictator, and Jason admits he felt hugely inferior to the action hero.

"You know what? I can't compete with them. Stallone's in such good shape. It would take me years to get like that. He's just got the genes," he is quoted as saying in British newspaper The Daily Mirror.

Jason is best known for tackling action roles, although admits he's also keen not to be pigeonholed. The star believes he would make a good James Bond, and rather fancies following in the footsteps of the likes of Sir Sean Connery and Sir Roger Moore by portraying the iconic British spy in the hit franchise a role which Daniel Craig currently occupies. Jason is dating Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and admits he's in awe of the fictional character's way with women.

"You'd be lying if you said no," he smiled.

"He has all the fanciest gadgetry. He's in and out of bed with the sexiest, hottest women. And he gets to save the world. Come on! It's everybody's dream, isn't it?" (C) Cover Media
